The Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) must keep the government, the Congress of Deputies and the Senate abreast of any events affecting nuclear safety and radiation protection.

It is the Spanish Parliament’s duty to provide ongoing oversight for the CSN’s activities. Accordingly, the CSN has to answer any questions Parliament asks about the contents of its annual report or specific points related with any matters within the CSN’s competence.

Relations with Parliament are channelled through the office of the rapporteur in charge of relations with the Nuclear Safety Council,which is part of the Industry Committee.
