Qué es una IRRS
The Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) is an instrument to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of the regulatory frameworks in Member States as well as their activities in the area of nuclear, radiological, radioactive waste and transport safety, based on the application of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) standards and on the global consensus and common visions among the experienced regulators in the Member States.
Specifically, an IRRS mission involves undertaking the following activities:
• A peer evaluation undertaken by a team of international experts with direct experience in the areas of evaluation.
• A comparison between a state’s regulatory practices and the guidelines agreed internationally.
• An exchange of experiences and equivalent best practices to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of the host regulatory organisation.
This article presents the results and reports of the mission to Spain in 2008.
