The CSN inspects the processes for manufacturing, testing and modifying the design of casks within the organizations that own their design. It also inspects the licensees of nuclear power plants, specifically their operations of loading and storing the fuel in casks as well as their management and dry storage control of the spent fuel and high level radioactive waste in authorised individualized temporary storage facilities (ATIs).
