Emergency drills

SIMULACROS

Emergency drills are carried out at least annually to check the proper functioning of the tools and procedures to be used in emergency situations and to maintain the training level of the staff who would be involved. These drills are prepared for both the on-site response level, that is, within the facility itself, and for the off-site response level, for off-site emergency response organisations.

The simulations involve a scenario that starts with a theoretical anomalous event (initiating event) that develops unfavourably with a series of failures until it causes a situation requiring the declaration of an emergency.

During these drills, communications are activated and emergency groups are formed, allowing the checking of the response capacity of the various participating organisations, the agility of the communications, the data transmission systems, calculation methods, decision-making procedures, activation of resources and means, etc.
