The Chairman of the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council chairs the Advisory Committee, and the General Secretary also serves as the Advisory Committee’s secretary. Other members of the Advisory Committee include representatives from:
- Ministries directly related with the CSN’s functions.
- Regions on whose territory the nuclear facilities are located or holding a function assignment agreement with the CSN.
- The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the Association of Municipalities in Areas with Nuclear Power Plants (AMAC).
- The nuclear industry.
- The main non-government organisations.
- Trade unions.
- Five experts.
The members of the Advisory Committee serve for a four-year term and may stay on for additional terms, except in the case of government representatives, whose seat on the committee depends on whether they remain in government office.
