Atomic Questions Group (AQG) of the Council of the European Union

Grupo de Cuestiones Atómicas del Consejo de la Unión Europea (AQG)

The Atomic Questions Group (AQG) of the Council of the European Union is a forum for approaching and discussing technical issues covered by the Euratom Treaty, i.e., nuclear energy, nuclear safety, safe radioactive waste management and radiation protection for the public and the environment.

The Spanish Nuclear Safety Council supports the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU and participates in the activities of the Atomic Questions Group (AQG) in topics related with nuclear safety and radiation protection.

The working group lays the technical foundations for later negotiations, agreements, proposals and initiatives culminating in the decisions taken by the ministerial representatives of member states at the Council of the European Union.
