Medical X-ray equipment sales and service companies
The companies that sell and provide technical assistance to medical diagnosis X-ray facilities must be authorised, after a report from the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN), by the competent body I on industry matters in the region in which they have their main offices. The regional authorities must report their resolutions to the Ministry of Industry for its entry into a centralised register. This Ministry periodically updates a list of medical X-ray equipment sales and technical assistance companies.
The role of these companies is important since they certify the compliance of the medical diagnosis X-ray equipment, after registering them, undertake the acceptance tests of the equipment before its clinical use, and are also the only ones allowed to carry out the withdrawal and destruction of medical radiodiagnosis equipment, certifying its destination.
Among other requirements, the authorisations for medical X-ray equipment sales and technical assistance companies require the preparation of an annual report that must be sent to the CSN with all the information and necessary records for it to carry out its control functions.
